Ahhh..I like the fresh scent of rain (and some snow) during this time of the year.  It helped wash away the pollens.  Soon the aspen, willow and cottomwood tree leaves will be changing colors.  A beautiful place to check out is Lundy Canyon above Mono Lake.

Wawona Road Rehabilitation Project: May - November 2010
(Hwy. 41: 28 miles of road work from the South Entrance to Yosemite Valley)

Use caution while driving. There are multiple unpaved areas - obey all reduced speed limits.

What, Where & Why: Repairs will be made to the historic Wawona Road beginning May 3, 2010 - November 2010. The purpose of this project is to perform standard roadway maintenance and repairs that if left uncorrected would result in further deterioration of the roadway.

Schedule of Delays: Multiple locations are being worked on regularly throughout the road corridor. Scheduled wait times are listed below.

Work is scheduled to occur between Sunday nights at 9:00pm and Friday evenings at 4:30pm. Although wait times are scheduled, expect overall slow travel times through the construction zone (due to following a pilot car, driving over unpaved areas, and traffic lines) to increase beyond what is scheduled below.

**Because multiple locations are being worked on simultaneously throughout the project area, you will have multiple wait periods. Wait times listed below indicate a total amount of time stopped throughout the 28-mile corridor.

WILDL LIFE SIGHTING AT THE MAMMOTH CREEK INN

This morning I saw a beautiful buck walking from the field next to the inn to Mammoth Creek Park.  For a moment, I thought he was going to get hit by a car that was going too fast anyway.  If anyone is traveling up to the Mammoth Lakes area on highway 395, highway 203 and the Scenic Loop road, please be careful.  The deers are migrating from the valley floor to the high mountains.

MAMMOTH CREEK INN

Got the snow report this morning.  Mammoth Mountain base is pretty decent for this time of the year.  7 feet in some places, more in others.  I like this time of the year.  The mountain has a lot of snow and barely any in town.  My friends are going skiing in the morning then biking in the afternoon.  Nice!
